The Googly Eye Mask & what to do with old projects?

Yes it’s true, she didn’t have the most glamorous upbringing. It was a random summer day (was it summer? I can’t remember) and my friends and I, bored out of or suburbian minds, wandered into a Micheal’s craft store. As soon as we meandered into the kids section I knew what I had to do. A couple dollars, some glue, and a few minutes later I gave birth to the ultimate creation. BEHOLD: THE GOOGLY EYE MASK.

Remember when people like Jenna Marbles and MadeYewLook were sticking googly eyes all over their bodies? I was inspired (no, I was bored) and I created this little googly eye mask. Of course, I didn’t have a blog to share it with! Hopefully this post won’t be too passe for you, but I love this little mask! Cheapest and easiest thing I’ve ever made. And maybe she’s not the most high-brow woman at the masquerade, but she’s still my lady.

Here’s the real question I have for you: what should I do with this? Future Halloween costume component? Rob some banks? Don’t worry, they won’t know it’s me. I’ll be wearing a mask.

I mean really…what do I do now? Give me reason to keep this

Tell me, has anyone else completed little spur-of-the-moment, or even planned projects, only to realize that you’ve now accumulated one more piece of clutter? I love to create things for the purpose of creating! I don’t think about what I’m going to do after I’m done. Please help a blogger out here.

  1. Ha! Now you have a photo of it, you don’t *have* to keep it. You’ll still have the memory of your mask left on this blog.

It is slightly mean, but you could give it to another quirky friend that would appreciate your mad mask? Or, have a mask party and encourage everyone to make/wear a mask when they come to your home. ❤

    1. I don’t know why this reply didn’t go through so I’m just going to re-copy it.

First of all thank you for the comment! And you’re right, I don’t HAVE to keep it. But last night I had a vision for this mask – I’m going to create a matching outfit with googly eyes and then take pictures with it. That way I’ll have not gotten rid of the mask AND I’ll have this strange outfit that I will then hoard as well. Perfect logic, but I’m also not kidding, that is happening.

      1. It sound like you will have to go the party option. Think of a theme that would suit a googly eyed look, then invite everyone else to make similarly mad costumes.

  3. I love that idea of having a party where everyone brings their own masks that they’ve created. Also, you could take it out into the world and take pictures wearing it in unexpected places, like on a train or ordering food in a restaurant. I wouldn’t have the guts, but it’d sure be entertaining if you did it, lol.

    1. I would definitely do that! I’ve gone to restaurants wearing animal onesies before. I guess I just shouldn’t walk into any banks or government building 😉

      Thanks for the comment!
